"I like to enjoy sex in total freedom": When Ricky Martin spoke unashamedly about intimate matters

The singer of "Livin' La Vida Loca" spoke about his sexual preferences, and made it clear that when it comes to pleasure, his tastes are broader, although he made it clear that he is undoubtedly and proudly a gay man.

On rare occasions, Ricky Martin has stated that he was physically attracted to both women and men. Openly gay, since he announced it to the world in 2010, the Puerto Rican is known for a long history of love conquests. Many of these, brief heterosexual relationships, or even longer ones.

Although he defines himself as a homosexual man, and not a bisexual, in 2012 Ricky spoke more deeply about his sexuality. "I've slept with women and fallen in love with them and felt wonderful things. There was love, passion. I don't regret anything, any of the relationships I've had. They taught me a lot, men and women alike," said the interpreter of "Pégate".

One of the most enduring and media-hyped romances of the Puerto Rican was with TV host Rebecca de Alba. The couple maintained an intermittent relationship from the late 1990s until 2005. Often, the singer has said that De Alba is "the perfect woman," and that he remembers with much love and affection the moments lived by her side.

"The thing is that not only did I like this woman a lot, she drove me crazy. The desire for attraction and the physical passion I felt for her destroyed me in every way, the overload of physical chemistry, the way she moved, the way we both moved together, all that drove me crazy," said Ricky, who now forms a happy family with his four children and her husband, the Syrian-born visual artist Jwan Yosef.

A couple of years ago, Ricky Martin summarized it more clearly: "I am gay, I am fascinated by men, but I like to enjoy sex in total freedom". The artist considers himself open to having sex with a woman if he feels like it. "I am against sexual labels, we are simply human beings with emotional and sexual needs. But I would never think of forming a sentimental couple with them, men are my thing," he closed.

Ricky currently maintains a stable and wonderful relationship with his current husband, to whom he constantly expresses his love, admiration and respect. On their social media they tend to leave very affectionate messages, and their close friends have commented that the Puerto Rican singer fell in love from the beginning, and that both emanate a very special chemistry, something that has also brought about the growth of the family, adding two beautiful children to the adorable family group.
