Oscar-nominated actor Elliot Page, 33, and his wife Emma Portner, 26, have separated after three years of marriage. The so-far couple has announced in a statement: “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce after our separation last summer. We have the utmost respect for each other and remain close friends ”. The 33-year-old Juno star, who came out as transgender just two months ago, filed for a contested divorce Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court.
On December 2, the actor spoke about his sexuality, also in a statement publishing that he was trans who felt satisfied when talking about his feelings, also thanking the people who accompanied her through that long process.
Since Page made her homosexuality public in February 2014, she has become one of the most combative LGTBI + activists in Hollywood. He decided to publicly announce that he was gay at age 26, during a human rights conference. He has been married for three years to dancer Emma Portner. “Something changed in me, and not just emotionally. Because physically I was also unwell: I was suffering from panic attacks, I had stomach problems… The day after I made it public, I went to re-record some takes and people told me that I looked like someone else.
