Our obsession with it has been increasing in recent years. Besides being delicious, nutritious and the best companion to many of our favorite dishes (and has even become the main ingredient of some desserts, such as ice cream), it has been proven that avocado brings great benefits to beauty.
And if you want to enhance its positive effects on your skin, hair and body, besides including it in your diet, we have an effective recommendation for you. Its name? Avocado oil!
What is avocado oil?
Just as you probably suspect, it is obtained from the avocado. It is composed of amino acids, oleic acid, lecithins, phytosterols (especially beta-sitosterol), monounsaturated fats and a high content of vitamins A and E. In addition, it is rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, omega-3 and omega-9.
1. Radiant hair
And by 'radiant' we mean that your hair will be more shiny, strong, flexible and silky. The vitamins in this ingredient will penetrate easily (and quickly) if you apply a mask with avocado oil to your hair twice a week, at night, with 100% dry hair.
Leave your hair mask on for 20 minutes and then remove it with warm water (preferably in the shower).
2. Reduces cholesterol
This oil will also give your body great advantages and will take care of your health, because if you include it in your food (like salads, smoothies, hummus or even bread) you will lower your cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and you will also provide your body with a large dose of vitamin E and healthy fats, which will strengthen your heart and protect it from cardiovascular diseases!
3. Bright and rejuvenated skin
Another of the most powerful beauty benefits of avocado oil is that it delays the appearance of the signs of aging on the skin (such as wrinkles) and helps cell regeneration in this area, thanks to its antioxidant ingredients (carotenoids, for example).
Our suggestion? Add a drop of avocado oil to the portion of moisturizer you are about to apply (either facial or body) 3 times a week.
4. Bye cellulite!
Lili Reinhart, the star of 'Riverdale', was right when she said in a recent interview: "Cellulite is simply genetic, like having freckles on your face... But I assure you there is nothing more beautiful than seeing stretch marks or cellulite and people's real skin," and we think that's 100% true!"
However, we understand and respect that many women would like to try to decrease it or prevent the so-called 'orange peel' on their body from increasing. If this is your case, we suggest you take the avocado stone and soak it in avocado oil, then massage with circular movements (using the stone) the body areas you want to treat and where you should reactivate the circulation.
Let this treatment work for 15 minutes and then take a bath with warm (or cold, if possible) water. The avocado oil will nourish your skin and help it regenerate more easily.
You can also mix a few drops of avocado oil in your body cream and apply it after bathing, trying to massage your skin with your hands.
