The Mexican-American singer has shown her happiness with the ruling of the United States Supreme Court that prevents the President Trump administration from throwing away the DACA immigrant program.
Becky G has indicated through her social networks how happy she is that the Supreme Court ruling has been in favor of preserving the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, created by former President Barack Obama in 2012.
In an interview for Billboard, the Mexican-American singer explained:
"Talk about the little flashes of light we need during these times to remember why we are fighting. It was an emotional morning, to say the least. I am not going to lie, I definitely cried".
This program aims to prevent the deportation of people who illegally arrived in the United States as children, providing them with the opportunity to obtain legal and safe employment, as well as the opportunity to acquire university scholarships and avoid being removed from the place that has become your home.
With this ruling, nearly 700 thousand people will avoid being deported and will be able to continue working and studying normally without problems with the Law.
In addition, the singer highlighted in her Twitter account another of the rulings of the Supreme Court of Justice, in which protection will be provided to people who belong to the LGBTQ + community in their workplaces.
"In recent days we have received news about our LGBTQ + protection rights and now protection for our DREAMERS".
