In the fight for fundamental rights, a singer from “Single Ladies” indicated that the road is long but cannot be abandoned.
Many celebrities have spoken out about the murder against George Floyd, an African American who was pinned down by a white police officer with his knee, suffocating him to death.
Following these actions by the police officer, the protests have kept the American people much busier than the global health crisis. The massive force movement of the so-called "Black Lives Matter" seeks to raise awareness about the abuse and mistreatment suffered by African-American people just for being dark-skinned.
After making her first statement last week, Beyonce has indicated that the fight is beginning and that to achieve acceptance and respect, the road is long.
"The world came together for George Floyd (...) We know there is a long way to go. Let's stay aligned and focused on our call for real justice."
The singer explains that this type of behavior by the police forces should not be considered normal and we must continue fighting so that people linked to these practices understand that their actions have consequences.
"We all witnessed his murder in broad daylight. We are broken and upset. We cannot normalize this behavior (...) No more meaningless killings of human beings, no more considering people of color as less than human. No longer we can look the other way. "
