Apium graveolens, commonly called celery, is a species belonging to the apiaceous family, of cosmopolitan distribution. It is also one of the vegetables that has the most medicinal benefits.
Celery is one of those vegetables with which you can make many recipes, such as: sauces, soups, salads or stews. It also has many benefits for your health.
However, if you do not usually go to the market daily, it is very likely that on more than one occasion you have been spoiled for not keeping it properly. How can you avoid it?
The first method you can use if you have bought more celery than you will need is to wrap the celery sticks in aluminum foil and place in the refrigerator. They are kept for approximately 1 month.
Another tip to keep it cool is to moisten a kitchen paper towel, wrap the celery stalks in the paper and then tie with an elastic band. Wrap the celery tightly in a bag and close it with a band.
Note: Celery leaves wilt faster than stalks, so if you will be using the leaves for cooking, cut and use them first for a better flavor.
