Drinking at least two full glasses of dairy is perfect to decrease 28% of metabolic syndrome. What is metabolic syndrome? In short, it is the set of disorders that include high blood pressure, very high glucose levels, body fat in different areas of the body and rare cholesterol levels.
Dairy is one of the most ingested foods worldwide, containing vitamins A, B-12 and riboflavin, and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc and phosphorus.
An international study revealed that ingestion of whole dairy products is associated with a lower percentage of metabolic syndrome, and of people suffering from hypertension and diabetes.
The recommendation is to consume at least a full glass of milk or yogurt a day. These dairy products must be whole, since those low in fat are not associated with reduced risk of metabolic syndrome according to the results of the study.
Also the intake of 2 servings a day of any dairy is associated with an 11% to 12% lower risk of diabetes or hypertension.
Despite the fact that this study revealed that it is good to eat dairy, it is important to emphasize that it should not be eaten in excess like any other food. Variety is health.
