Macaroni and cheese au gratin is a simple but full of flavor recipe, ideal to accompany special moments.
Pasta is one of the most popular dishes in Italian food. Its versatility in the kitchen has earned the preference of millions of people around the world. On this occasion, we present you a very simple recipe to decorate and full of flavor.
What do you need?
- 3 cups short pasta.
- 1/2 cup of butter with salt.
- 1/2 cup of white onion
- 2 cloves of garlic.
- 1/4 cup of wheat flour
- 2 cup of liquid milk.
- 1 cup of milk cream.
- 2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard.
- 1/2 cup of Gruyere, Cheedar and Parmesan cheese.
How are macaroni and cheese cooked?
Start by cutting the onion into small cubes and then fry it in the pan with the butter. Add the garlic and when they are ready add the wheat flour, mix and cook for 3 minutes before adding the milk.
Once the sauce has thickened add the mustard, the nutmeg and the pinch of salt, cook for a minute and then add the macaroni that you previously cooked in a pot with water and salt.
Add half of the cheeses and stir, before removing from the heat. Serve the pasta on a tray that you will cover with the remaining cheese. Bake for 10 minutes at 200 ° C.
