Forget about spending money at the bakery. Make your own breads.
Do not worry if you do not have experience preparing breads, this recipe is super homemade, simple and inexpensive. Best of all, you only need 4 ingredients to prepare your own whole wheat bread.
If you are surprised to know that if you follow our recipe to the letter you will become a baker, even more you will be surprised to know that you can use whole wheat flour or whole wheat flour from other cereals and it will not be necessary to knead it.
What you will need to make your own whole wheat bread:
- ½ kg of 100% whole wheat flour (or the whole wheat flour of your choice)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 gr of dry baker's yeast
- 400 ml of warm water
How to cook it:
In a large bowl add the flour together with the yeast and add the teaspoon of salt. In this step you can add extra ingredients if you like, such as seeds or nuts.
Start adding warm water little by little, but remember that it must be very slow, if possible a trickle by trickle. At the same time you must mix everything very well until you get a homogeneous dough. It is not necessary to knead it much, just until the dough is to the point. If possible, wear gloves when kneading so that it does not fit on your hands.
Let your flour rest for about two hours, you can leave it in the same bowl and you can cover it with a damp handkerchief where it does not air. After the hours indicated, you will notice that the dough doubled in volume and with few ingredients!
Start preheating your oven to 200ºC while you grease and flour a rectangular pan of preference, which is 20 to 25 cm long. Start pouring your dough there and roll it out with the help of a spatula.
When you notice that your bread is ready and browned it will be time to unmold it and wait for it to cool. When it is warm you can cut it and eat it to your liking.
