There are children who do not eat "green" foods, so, thinking about them, and to encourage them to eat spinach, we propose to prepare this calzone of spinach, ham and cheese, to see if there is luck and encourage them to try it, because you know you have to insist.
It is not in vain that the famous "10 times rule" is often talked about. A child has to try a food up to 10 times to start appreciating its taste. This means that you should not give up at first. Try to get him/her to at least taste it (without ever forcing him/her), one or two spoonfuls, and try again another day, perhaps prepared differently, as we have done today with this spinach calzone. It may never be their favorite food, but eventually they will get used to its taste, and they will get used to it.
Calzone is a variety of pizza, originally from Naples. The filling is put on the dough and this is folded, remaining totally closed. It is served hot, sometimes with tomato sauce, but the spinach, ham and cheese calzone we bring you today taste delicious to cold.
- 2 fresh pizza doughs
- 300 gr of spinach already cleaned
- 150 gr. of ham in cubes
- 150 g Gorgonzola cheese
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 pinch of salt
- Black pepper
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Grated Parmesan cheese
To prepare this calzone of spinach, ham and cheese we are going to begin cooking the spinach. For it we put in a pot water to boil with a pinch of salt, when it begins to boil we incorporated the spinach and we let cook about 8 or 10 minutes. We take out and we drain very well.
In a frying pan with a little extra virgin olive oil, sauté the spinach, add the flour, mix and let it cook for a couple of minutes, add the milk and cheese. Continue mixing while cooking and making the cream. Finally, add the taquitos of ham and salt and pepper. We have our delicious filling ready.
We put half of the filling on one of the pizza bases, we cover with the other half and wetting our hands with water we close the edges joining them like a cord. Brush the surface with a little extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180º C, with circular heat for about 20 minutes. If you cook with a high and low temperature you can raise the oven temperature to 200ºC.
